I exhibited my work Gift of Death, Robbery of Life in the Major Works exhibition. This piece utilizes a surrealist gothic approach to the idea of death, finding beauty in the inevitable. This piece captures the idea of impending death, a skull and jaw slowly converging, enclosing the figure in a subtly hourglass-shaped frame. The figure, however, remains unafraid- embracing their inexorable fate, something that we all have in common. Our shared predestination, this commonality between us, is something beautiful as it is frightening.
